چکیده

In this paper, we study deterministic dynamic lot-sizing problems with service level constraints on the total number of periods in which backorders can occur over the finite planning horizon. We give a natural mixed integer programming formulation for the single item problem (LS-SL-I) and study the structure of its solution. We show that an optimal solution to this problem can be found in O(n2κ) time, where n is the planning horizon and κ = O(n) is the maximum number of periods in which demand can be backordered. Using the proposed shortest path algorithms, we develop alternative tight extended formulations for LS-SL-I and one of its relaxations, which we refer to as uncapacitated lot sizing with setups for stocks and backlogs. We show that this relaxation also appears as a substructure in a lot-sizing problem which limits the total amount of a period’s demand met from a later period, across all periods. We report computational results that compare the natural and extended formulations on multi-item service-level constrained instances.

OPTIMIZATION OF A PRODUCTION LOT SIZING PROBLEM WITH QUANTITY DISCOUNT

Dynamic lot sizing problem is one of the significant problem in industrial units and it has been considered by  many researchers. Considering the quantity discount in  purchasing cost is one of the important and practical assumptions in the field of inventory control models and it has been less focused in terms of stochastic version of dynamic lot sizing problem. In  this paper, stochastic dyn...

Piecewise linear approximations for the static-dynamic uncertainty strategy in stochastic lot-sizing

In this paper, we develop mixed integer linear programming models to compute near-optimal policy parameters for the non-stationary stochastic lot sizing problem under Bookbinder and Tan’s static-dynamic uncertainty strategy. Our models build on piecewise linear upper and lower bounds of the first order loss function. We discuss different formulations of the stochastic lot sizing problem, in whi...

Lot-sizing with production and delivery time windows

We study two different lot-sizing problems with time windows that have been proposed recently. For the case of production time windows, in which each client specific order must be produced within a given time interval, we derive tight extended formulations for both the constant capacity and uncapacitated problems with Wagner-Whitin (non-speculative) costs. For the variant with nonspecific order...

Stochastic Lot-sizing Problem with Random Lead Times

We give multi-stage stochastic programming formulations for lot-sizing problems where costs, demands and order lead times follow a general discrete-time stochastic process with finite support. We characterize the properties of an optimal solution and give a dynamic programming algorithm, polynomial in input size, when orders do not cross in time.
